OPEN BOOKS. OPEN MIND.
The Johnson & Wales Charlotte Campus Library is joining the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library in its 2021 Community Read initiative, with a focus on creating a community dialogue around the themes of racism and social justice. Community Read is the Library’s month-long effort to have the community read (or listen) to books of current and relevant topics and participate in discussions, book clubs and events held at Library locations as well as hosted by community partners. The signature title, I’m Not Dying with You Tonight by Kimberly Jones and Gilly Segal, includes a scheduled appearance by the authors on March 24, 2021. Adults and teens are encouraged to read and discuss the main title, and the Library selected companion titles for all ages including:
You Matter by Christian Robinson (children)
Everyone in the community can participate: read a book, share perspectives, attend a program, engage on social media and build a stronger community together. #communityread2021

JWU Charlotte Library is proud to partner up with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library once again.
JWU Charlotte Library will be hosting a series of events focused on the signature title I'm Not Dying with You Tonight and Just Mercy. We will also be encouraging and showcasing creative projects submitted by students to allow them space to reflect on their thoughts on these titles.
Stay Tuned as we post more information.
In the meantime don't forget to sign the Pledge to Participate form on the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library webpage!
