2023 Edible Book Contest: Home

Learn everything you need to know about entering the 2023 Edible Book Contest.

What is an Edible Book?

An edible book is a creative food project that draws its inspiration from books and stories. Edible books might physically resemble books, create a pun around a title, or they might refer to an aspect of a story or a character. Out-of-the-box thinking is highly encouraged. Check out the examples in the gallery and the ones shown below.

Entry Rules

How to participate:

Create a work made out of edible materials that’s inspired by a book (or other literary work) in content or shape. Puns on titles are highly encouraged.

Individual and group entries are encouraged. Teams can be no more than three people.

Entries must be composed primarily of edible materials (75% or more). Toothpicks and minimal use of food wrappers are allowed. Food not in edible form, such as dry rice or orange peels, may also be used.

While your entry must be composed of edible materials, it does not have to actually be appetizing! Entries will not be judged on taste.
